Never let it be said that that age and experience trumps youthful energy and lust for life. And while we are not sure at which end of these two extremes we sit, HARD TO HANDLE BAND firmly believe that if you love what you do, your perspective on life benefits from both experience and energy. Performing over 200 bookings per year and running around like lunatics at each gig we play, we like to think we have both of these bases covered.
Harrison, who hired us to perform at his 18th birthday party just outside Stourbridge in the West Midlands certainly thinks so! Not content with already being the coolest young chap on the block, he went and made himself a legend by deciding that to mark his transitional into adulthood, he needed to do something to cement his claim as the foremost member of his friends group. So while other young huddles of friends go paintballing or indulge their inner teenage angst by smashing up escape rooms, Harrison gained eternal cool status by hiring a full on professional function band + DJ in the shape of HARD TO HANDLE BAND, one of the most entertaining, versatile and hardworking live bands performing at parties, weddings and other functions around the UK.
We were able to mold our massive 350+ genre-busting live band playlist into a rock-central, indietastic blast through the type of uber-cool bands Harrison and his budding musician friends love jumping up and down to – The Libertines, Kooks, Strokes, Foo Fighters and more, with our DJ complementing the mood by spinning Fontaines DC, Wunderhorse and other artistes you may or may not be not cool enough for.
OK so, because this was a responsible birthday party, some moms and dads were also in attendance, and because Harrison is an all-round nice chap, he let them have their fun by allowing us to broaden out the music to include some classic rock, pop and soul, but it was the young who were the centre of attention, loving our mix of music and onstage energy. And clearly brimming with confidence, Harrison had no problem telling you all on camera how happy he was with his decision to hire HARD TO HANDLE BAND!
