Black Country Museum Peaky Style wedding entertainment supplier live band + DJ Hard to Handle
BCLM wedding supplier live band
Black Country Living Museum (BCLM) is taking bookings for wedding receptions and what better way to celebrate than tipping your flat cap to the legend that is Tommy and the boys by incorporating a stylistic element of the hit show into your big day! Whether you like the overall style of the show but don’t want to go all in or are a fanatic and have already kitted your men out in caps, trench coats and braces, there is no better setting for a Peaky styles wedding than the museum.
Set in the heart of the Black Country, the areas’ industrial heritage comes back to life among the rebuilt pubs, high street shops, forges and of course the canal side setting. If you see your wedding reception taking place amongst the idyllic buildings and atmosphere of a bygone age, the Black Country Museum is definitely for you.
When you hire a West Midlands wedding supplier, they will also most likely want to be on board with the theme of your big day, and that applies to your choice of live wedding entertainment. Creating the “wow” factor, dressing the part, Dudley-based professional wedding and function band HARD TO HANDLE will play a blinder for you with non-stop live party music, flat caps and local accents. Can I hire a wedding band to perform at The Black Country Living Museum? Won’t it be too expensive?
As the museum has an entertainment licence, you certainly can hire a live band as your Black Country Museum wedding supplier. But what are the advantages of hiring a live band over other types of entertainment? While some brides and grooms believe that wedding bands will be far too expensive an option and out of their budget, HARD TO HANDLE BAND are here to show you that if you have set your heart on live entertainment, you can indeed hire a top quality professional live band to get your guests on the dance floor. We are renowned for not just being versatile, high-energy and with a hugely eclectic playlist, but also for being more cost effective than the majority of other professional live bands.
In your search for wedding supplier music, you may have received crazy expensive quotes from some bands and entertainment agencies or live band bookers. If this has happened a few times, the tendency is to think that all bands will be outside your budget and to go down the DJ root (which opens up a whole different can of worms!). This perspective will unfortunately be reinforced if you request a quote for live entertainment for your West Midlands wedding reception from entertainment agencies. Why? Because in addition to paying a fee to the band you will also be required to pay a commission to the agency when you hire them. Good for the agency, not so good for the band and definitely not good for your wedding budget!
Luckily, you have found HARD TO HANDLE BAND. When you hire us as your Black Country Museum wedding supplier, you will find us very cost effective, and hiring us direct means that you won’t have to pay any additional agency fees. We will provide you with one quote which covers non-stop band and DJ music all night, regardless of whether your venue is the Workers’ Institute or the more expansive Exhibition Hall.
Can I request songs to be played?
We believe that being interactive is one of the most important facets of creating a successful nights’ entertainment at the Black Country Museum for you and your guests, and as such, hiring a band which is open to playing song requests is absolutely key to keeping a smile on your face! Our massively extensive live band playlist is actually a result of years of HARD TO HANDLE BAND learning new song requests. We love the challenge of learning new songs, so when you hire us, don’t forget to ask all of your guests to nominate a song for us to play – in 2 hours of live band music we can play up to 36 songs, from which you can choose as many of your favourite requests as you like. Oh, and our DJ is also interactive, mixing music live and taking song requests on the night. All in all, it’s like having your own personal band and DJ!
Is hiring a local band the best option?
While there’s nothing wrong in theory with hiring a non-local band as your West Midlands wedding supplier, there are a few reasons why it might be better to hire local:
- Bands who are travelling longer distances tend to charge per mile driven, so you may find them to be too expensive
- Hiring a local band for your wedding reception means reduced travel time and less chance of the band getting delayed in traffic
- A local band such as HARD TO HANDLE will more likely have a familiarity with the venue. As BCLM is a huge museum complex spread over 29 acres, non-local bands may struggle to orientate themselves once on site. This could be even more of a problem if they are already delayed due to traffic issues!
- People from the Black Country, Birmingham and the West Midlands pride themselves on their shared heritage and accents. Let’s face it; we often feel more comfortable around folk who talk with a local accent; and hearing a yamyam voice at a peaky-themed event adds an air of authenticity, doesn’t it. Bostin!
