Do wedding bands play music for the whole night?
How will your Oxfordshire wedding reception at Stratton Court Barn look and feel like with HARD TO HANDLE BAND? Well firstly, having performed at the venue many times, everything will run smoothly! By the time of your big day, everything will be in place – music requests including your first dance and other songs will have been prepared and added to our live band and DJ sets to ensure that we personalise the music experience to your tastes. We will have talked to you about timings so that we can provide as much music as possible – with over 2 hours of live band music and up to 4 hours of DJ music (depending on how you would like your day to run, we can provide DJ music as early as 6pm), that’s likely to be over 100, with as much as 36 songs played by the band and the rest played by our DJ. By the way, unlike some bands, our DJ music isn’t just infill or an afterthought – it’s a live DJ service. Our DJ crafts sets which reflect both your music tastes and the party vibe, taking song requests on the night to ensure the dance floor stays full between band sets.
We will also have talked with the venue manager to ensure that they know when we are arriving and our set up and performance times. We will ensure that we stagger our sets so that one set finishes just before your evening food is served, and if you are planning any extra-special surprises (such as fireworks), we can take them into account by asking your guests to join you outside (but not ruining the surprise by mentioning that there are going to be fireworks!)
What happens if my wedding runs late?
Of course, not everything runs like clockwork. In our experience of performing over 200 wedding receptions each year, we can safely say that quote a few wedding receptions don’t run like clockwork. Some deviate from planned timings a little, and a few vary wildly! Usually it’s due to a hiccup earlier in the day (speeches that run over are the main culprit) which has a knock-on effect in terms of the wedding breakfast finish time. But this is one of the many reasons why hiring HARD TO HANDLE as your Oxfordshire wedding band totally makes sense – as a professional live band we have the requisite experience to get your big day back on track. If you find yourselves running late, our quick set up and soundcheck means that our DJ can kick the party off sooner, allowing us to make up the time you thought you had lost. If you find your evening guests arriving late and the break for when evening food is supposed to be served looking, it’s really not a problem – we’ll simple perform a shorter first set to allow your guests to enjoy food and play a longer second set to ensure that you get the maximum amount of entertainment.
