Live wedding entertainment for Blackbrook Barns
Though we love every gig we play, a couple of the wedding receptions we have performed at Blackbrook Barns stand out as being the most fun. One was very ordered and lovely (despite a rocky start) and the other was wild and crazy!
The rocky start for bride and groom was unfortunately courtesy of another Staffordshire wedding band who split up. Now just to mention – of course Staffordshire wedding bands split up, in the same way that Staffordshire wedding venues close and other Staffordshire wedding suppliers cease trading. But HARD TO HANDLE are built differently.
We don’t cancel gigs. It’s as simple as that.
We take what we do seriously. We value every booking that’s confirmed because we know that by the time a bride and groom have reached the point whereby they call or email us to say “we’d love to hire you as your wedding band!”, they have spent countless hours searching for the perfect Staffordshire wedding band, a band who will play their favourite music and complement the evening. It’s a big emotional investment for a wedding couple and it’s something that we recognise by ensuring that when a booking is confirmed, we arrive on the day in plenty of time, set up our equipment quickly, play the song requests, get the dance floor full and provide a great nights’ entertainment. In short, we pay back the trust you have placed in us.
Gareth and Jo found us, hired us and everything went like clockwork – timings were as scheduled, we play all of the happy couples’ song requests in both band and DJ sets and the bride and groom (probably) breathed a huge sigh of relief that their big day (eventually) went exceedingly well!

Elaine and Lee also hired HARD TO HANDLE BAND after watching our performance videos, loving our energy and sense of fun. They decided that we matched the kind of madcap party vibe they wanted for their big day, with all guests involved at once all the time! On top of the choice selection of song requests for band and DJ sets they sent us, they also asked if we could MC and present the start of the evening and something called “Bongo bingo”. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this party game, it’s best described as bingo on steroids! Every bingo call is accompanied with music, which leads to dancing, which leads to more music, hats, inflatable musical instruments being thrown around, and more.
Though this was the first time we had been asked to help start the party in such a crazy manner, our experience MCing corporate awards night and providing audio “stings” (play-on music for award winners) meant that this was something we could do with ease.
