Warbler on the Wharf – such a picturesque name for a superb wedding venue! Situated right on Campbell Wharf Marina in Milton Keynes, it’s known for lively public events and private functions such as birthday parties and weddings. Though HARD TO HANDLE BAND have probably performed at most of the establishments you could choose to hire for your Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire wedding reception, Warbler on the Wharf was also the first time for us at this lovely welcoming venue, but hopefully not the last.
We first received a request for a quote from groom Paul and bride Mary May back in June of 2025. We knew we were in for a fun time as soon as we received Paul and Mary Mays’ requests to be played as the first three live band songs of the night:
- The Proclaimers – Let’s Get Married
- Gerry Cinnamon – Belter
- Kasabian – You’re in love with a Psycho
Eschewing the trappings of an overly formal event, bride and groom decided that their wedding would be the reason for a real party, with all the fun frenetic fun and energy only HARD TO HANDLE BAND can bring. Added to which, Paul and Mary May wanted to hear Kasabian, Elbow, Paulo Nutini, Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones and Ed Sheeran as well as – and this is the best bit – a special request from Mary May’s dad – George Thorogood, Bad to the Bone! If you don’t know the name, you’ll almost certainly recognise the song!
HARD TO HANDLE BAND love to personalise wedding receptions so of course we played the songs, and guess what? We had a full dance floor, all night, and lovely bride Mary May said “oh my god, you were amazing”, which of course it very true.
