At any time of year, you’d be hard pressed to find a wedding venue as aesthetically pleasing as Huntsmill Farm in Shalstone, Buckinghamshire. Spring, summer, autumn or even winter (when we performed for Amy and her new husband Ali), the rustic barn and surrounding natural environment are a winning combination. We know this because we are hired by brides and grooms to perform at Huntsmill Farm a couple of times a year; sometimes through entertainment agencies, sometimes direct through this website. Amy and Ali opted to hire us through a booking agent, which is fine, but do remember that you won’t have to pay an additional agency commission when you hire HARD TO HANDLE BAND through this website. When you ask us to quote for us performing at your wedding reception direct you will also have the opportunity to talk to us before you book – that way you will get a better idea of the service we offer, which includes:
- Over 2 hours of live band music
- Live DJ performing before, inbetween and after our live band sets
- Massive 350+ song playlist featuring rock, indie, pop, soul and much more
- Sound system and lighting
- Very happy guests!
While it’s easy to say “we go the extra mile”, you will probably have seen something similar on many Buckinghamshire wedding bands‘ websites. Often it’s no more than just a buzz phrase: if a band isn’t providing a live DJ, learning song requests but is charging you extra for all manner of things you don’t really want, you have to ask what it is that they are doing beyond playing some songs? So when HARD TO HANDLE BAND say this, we mean that we provide a live DJ (not just a preloaded Spotify playlist) who mixes songs and take requests from your guests to ensure that you get a truly interactive service. We also ask you to name your favourite songs so that we are sure to play band music that you and your guests will want to dance to. After all, there’s no point in hiring live entertainment for your wedding reception if you can’t decide on the music you want to have played, is there?
Like Amy and Ali, you may well have a special song that you would love to have played. It might be a slow intimate first dance, or it could be a full-on party anthem that you and you friends always hit the floor to when you are in a club. It could even be a mixture of both – an absolute banger but something you always imagined having played in a slower, acoustic style for you and your partners’ first dance. Whichever of these options is your choice, once you have hired us as your wedding band, let us know and we will be more than happy to learn and pay it – at no extra cost of course! Amy and Ali and Ali knew that their guests would be on the dance floor from the very first song but still wanted to have a say in the songs we were to play, and asked us to play this eclectic mix:
- Common People Pulp
- Bat out of Hell Meatloaf
- Mr Brightside The Killers
- Oh what a Night (December 1963) Frankie Valli
- Fire Kasabian
- Ever Fallen In Love The Buzzocks
- Town Called Malice The Jam
- Livin on a Prayer Bon Jovi
- Sweet Child Of Mine Guns n Roses
- A Little Respect Erasure
- Friday I’m In Love The Cure
- 500 Miles The Proclaimers
- Country Roads John Denver
- You never can tell Chuck Berry
- Chelsea Dagger The Fratellis
- Does Your Mother Know ABBA
- Ace of Spades Motorhead
- I am the resurrection Stone Roses
- Angels Robbie Williams
- All the small things Blink 182
- Sweet Caroline Neil Diamond
- I’m Your Man Wham
- Don’t Look Back in Anger Oasis
- Don’t you want me Human League
- Proud Mary Tina Turner
We had lots of fun playing all of these songs and more, and as you can tell, Amy loved our performance! By the way, that’s not our full playlist – you’ll find it here.
