If we had £1 for every time we’d received a phone call from a desperate bride or an email from an entertainment agency looking for a Northamptonshire wedding band to replace the act they thought they had booked, just to find that for whatever reason the band in question won’t be coming…look, we get it. Nothing in life is guaranteed. Sometimes circumstances can conspire against us; events beyond our control which demand a response. But given that we know that the only certain thing in life is uncertainty itself, we can at the very least try to prepare for such events.
Allow us to be serious for a moment.
As service providers (a live function band) for your major life event (your Northampton wedding), it’s absolutely key that we have a contingency plan in place to ensure that your night goes ahead as plan. And as professional musicians we simply don’t understand why every live function band advertising themselves as being appropriate to perform at your wedding reception do not embrace this philosophy.
So, your band cancelled or broke up – did they not find you another band from Northamptonshire? Your drummer is ill? Is it beyond your capabilities as a band leader to have a prepared a list beforehand of replacement musicians who can step in at the last minute if required?
If a so-called professional live Northamptonshire wedding band is unable to have a contingency plan in place for such eventualities, it unfortunately just goes to show how little regard they have for you and the amount of time and effort you have put into planning your big day – beyond wanting to take your money, if course.
