We don’t always play wedding receptions. OK. We mostly play wedding receptions and that’s because brides and grooms love that they can hire a professional live band and DJ in one without having to take out a second mortgage on their home to pay for it. Seriously, why are so many live wedding bands soooooo expensive? There are several answers to this question, but one is that a lot of bands would prefer to play corporate functions (such as the British Adhesive and Sealants 2025 showcase that HARD TO HANDLE BAND + DJ performed at recently at the East Midlands Conference Centre) rather than commit to playing at your wedding reception. Why? Money, that’s why. They know they can probably earn much more to play at a corporate event than most wedding budgets will stretch to. Worst case scenario; some bands will drop you like a hot stone if a more lucrative booking comes in.
Some bands. Not all. HARD TO HANDLE BAND do not cancel bookings. Once you have hired us to perform for you, that booking is set in stone. Actually it’s this reliability as well as our insanely amazing musicianship and ability to entertain guests that led Heather and co. at BASA to hire us for the second year running to perform at their annual gala event. We may be a three piece band but we ooze onstage presence and can fill any room with our big sound, which is why we were the natural choice. And let’s be honest – not everyone is a natural party animal. Not everyone wants to get onto the dance floor straight away. But when you hire HARD TO HANDLE BAND + DJ as your Nottinghamshire live entertainment, you’ll be surprised to see guests that you never expected to see on the dance floor throwing shapes, jumping around like lunatics and generally having the time of their lives.
And there’s the other stuff – not just music. It’s the fact that we are professional from the very first point of contact until the end of the night. We provide timely and informative responses to questions and requests for quotes (we usually reply within 1 hour) and we liaise with yourself and your venue to ensure that you have the information you need well in advance.
